Students Join Together for the Good of Others
Posted 29/09/2016 03:45PM

The Upper School Activities Fair, run by students for students, encourages leadership and participation. Service Ambassadors Mackenzie '17, Dhanya '18, Femi '18, Joanna '18, and Rebecca '18, along with Mrs. Reinikainen and Dr. Norris, organized the first semester Activity Fair.

Every school year, upper school students have the opportunity to join the clubs and after-school activities of their choice. Participation in these clubs encourages leadership and responsibility, and many are focused on raising money for and awareness of important causes.

Mackenzie '17, a TASIS Leadership Academy Ambassador and founder and president of the TASIS England Global Issues Network, spearheaded the recent fair. New and returning students had the opportunity to learn more about the activities on campus and to get involved in the student-run clubs, based on their interests, passions, and hobbies.

Twenty-three clubs participated in the event on Friday, September 16. The clubs focus on a wide range of interests, from the environment, to interacting with the Thorpe community, to learning and performing. Any upper school student can initiate their own club, and the Activities Fair gives club officers the opportunity to market and advertize to potential new participants.

Please visit the TASIS England website for a full list of service clubs and other clubs and activities.
