About TASIS:

Located in a rural setting in the small village of Thorpe, Surrey, TASIS The American School in England, is an international school for students from Nursery through Grade 12 (ages 3 to 18). We are a day school for students of all ages, and offer boarding in our Upper School (Grades 9 to 12, ages 14 to 18). Throughout all grades we teach a content-rich curriculum which enables students to develop broad knowledge across Science, History, Foreign Languages, the Humanities, Arts, and the core subjects of English and Math, as well as developing physical, emotional and social skills, and literacy. In our Upper School we offer students either the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program or the American High School diploma, with the option of additional Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

Teaching Opportunities

Upper School EAL Teacher

Job Summary:
The main purpose of the Upper School EAL Teacher is to design and deliver language acquisition courses to multi-grade classes consisting of English language learners at WIDA proficiency levels 2-5 (CEFR A2 – C1), using content-based instruction as a means of supporting academic language development.

The Upper School EAL Teacher may also be required to play a role in supporting the standards of teaching, learning and attainment of students with English as an Additional Language in the Middle School.
